Finally some spring weather!

This weekend we have finally seen some weather in the 70s! The kids have been begging to go swimming, so after football and baseball games today we let the kids enjoy the sprinklers. It was fun to watch them run around outside again. Although the heat was nice, they did realize it wasn't warm enough to swim. They were freezing when the sprinklers shut off!! At least they got to play outside before the next storm gets here early next week. Another sign of spring...STRAWBERRIES!! We visit the local stands about once ever 3-4 days. Everyone here loves them, even Dayna got over her aversion to seeds to enjoy them! Here are some pics of the kids dipping them into chocolate. Despite David's face he did say he liked it!

This is a pic of Dayna and Kylie having a nice little chat!

Little League

Dylan started baseball again a few weeks ago. He is loving it!! He is in coach pitch this year which has just been using the pitching machine so far. Dave just said the other day that they are starting the coach pitch part of it in the next couple of weeks or so. Dylan is super excited about that!! I would guess that is mainly because Dave is his coach and he has been hitting his pitches for years! Yes, you did read right Dave is coaching Dylans little league team. Needless to say, they are the Dodgers. Did you really expect anything else?? Here is a picture of "Coach Dave." Dylan in ready stance.
Hey batter batter batter...swing!

Making Easter Eggs

This is the first year we have ever attempted decorating easter eggs! We got a kit a year or two ago from my sister in law and it has just sat in a drawer because I thought the kids were too little to handle it. Well, I was cleaning out the drawer and came across it, because it was such a rainy yucky day we decided to have a go at it. My sister did advise us to lay a blanket on the floor and suggested the garage. It went smoothly with only one spill! Here are the kids showing us the eggs prior to decorating.

Waiting for the eggs to finish drying so we could do the glitter part of the kit, which got some glitter on the eggs and a lot on the floor and the kids!
Here is a pic of them with two of their finished eggs.

Baptism

Today we had Krista and Kylies baptism. We got there quite early because the Sunday school kids were going to sing this morning. It ended up being good that we got there when we did because as soon as we got there both girls were screaming and Krista filled her pants. By the time we had them both quiet it was just about time for the service to begin. They fussed a bit before the actual baptism and a movement of the blankets (made by their great grandma VT) told us that Kylie had a smelly reason to be fussy! The baptism itself went just fine. Dylan even volunteered to protect them if they get picked on in years to come!

Family picture after baptism.
We were very fortunate to be able to have ALL of the kids' great grandparents there to witness this blessing. God is very good!! I hope the kids realize how lucky they are!
Sorry Dads and Moms the computer was acting up and I couldn't get your pics to upload. It took me two times just to get these, and that was valuable time :)

Our New Additions!

Well, I finally got around to posting a new family pic and the girls' birth announcement. Special thanks (and free advertising) to Laura for making our announcement!! We are all doing well and sleeping through most nights! Now if we could only get rid of all the colds that keep surfacing things would be perfect!

Birthdays and Soccer

The first day of January is Dayna and David's birthday. This year was a bit different than previous years because Dave and his family were all in Michigan for his brother's wedding. My parents were here with me to assist in case I needed any help in regards to this pregnancy. So we tried to make the day extra special for them. We started off with their gifts and cake. We then went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch. This was definately a highlight for them and Dylan. Especially since they had been begging to go there for over a year. I figured this was a perfect reason to go. After lunch we went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks the squeekquel. The kids all enjoyed it and it was entertaining enough for the rest of us to have a good time too! I don't think they even realized they had no aunts/uncles/daddy there with them...which was a good thing! They couldn't wait for Dave to get home so they could tell him everything they did! I am happy to say too that I was fine throughout the entire time Dave was gone too! No trips to the hospital thanks mainly to the fact that my parents were here and wouldn't let me do ANYTHING!! Dave has started a new hobby/activitiy. Indoor soccer!!! He had thoroughly enjoyed the two games he had played in and we couldn't wait for a game at a time that the kids and I could go to. The previous game was at 1115 at night!! They had decided that since they were all of dutch ancestory their uniforms would be orange. You definately notice them!! It was a lot of fun to watch and I wont lie there were a lot of jokes being told especially since they are sponsored by Main Street Floral!! The kids all stood along the field watching their dads play! Dave ready to block any shot! We did win! Actually, they have a winning record!!

December

We started off this month with David and Dayna's preschool christmas program. It was really cute! The were in the choir. All week we had to hear about how it wasn't fair that I (Dayna) don't get to sing into a microphone. If you asked her how practise went her response was "stupid, they don't let me sing in the microphone" Imagine our surprise when that night she actually did sing "into" a microphone. She went to the front of the stage with about 4-5 other kids and stood in front of her own mic. We realized after that, that the issue wasn't singing into the mic, but holding the mic! The both did really good and sung their hearts out. You can still catch them walking around the house singing the songs. Dylan also had a Christmas program at church. Once again he sung from the heart as he praised God!It was Dylan's 7th birthday Sunday, so we got to do what he wanted to do. Needless to say he got to pick what was for lunch, and no surprise to us that was Subway. He has been asking for a Nintendo DS for almost a year now, so it was no wonder that it was on the top of his Christmas/Birthday lists. We had been telling him no way, it costs too much ever since he started asking for it. Well, sometime during the summer the store had it majorly on sale and I bought it at that time. It is the only thing he has been asking for so we knew we were going to have to disguise it. We wrapped it in about four boxes all inside eachother. He had no idea what was going on, just that he had to keep unwrapping boxes! You should have seen his face when he finally got to the DS!! All he kept saying was "Thank you that is what I wanted!!"
Dylan thanking his brother and sister for the game they gave him for the DS.

Dylan showing David and Dayna how to play it.

Dylan with his mint-chip icecream cake. The snowboarders on it is what sold him the cake. Now we have one birthday down, just Christmas and the twins' birthday to go!
