Problems with Dial-up!!

I have been trying for weeks to post pics from our weekend up at Shaver Lake. I know that the rain messes with our phone line and that in turn prevents the internet from working correctly. Now, for some odd reason everytime I try to download photos to the blog it kicks me out after about five minutes or so---very frustrating. We had a really good time though and the kids had a ball sledding. They could not get enough of it. As soon as we got home David was asking when we could go to the cabin again!! Dylan tried his hand at snowskiing. I think he had a lot of fun in his class and then skiing down the hill with Dad, Grandpa and Uncle Jason. He came down with a huge smile and was able to dodge the snowboarders who were all on their butts!! Those people scared me while skiing. I don't consider myself a very good skier and everytime one would sit down in front or near me I got real nervous hoping I would be able to avoid them and not crash into them. Sorry Frank and Jake for the time that I did hit you two!! Dave enjoyed being out on the slopes again, I was glad he got out there too, because he likes to remind me that he has only skied once since we've been married! At least he has gotten the chance to waterski a few times!! I did get a few pics to download to facebook so if you want to see some pics you can do it that way. I will keep trying to get them on here though as well.

Farm Show 2009

Yesterday we spent the day at the Tulare Farm Show. The kids had a blast. They got to climb on any tractor that they wanted and as much as they wanted. They walked and walked and walked for hours. Stacy did bring a stroller for Brayden to use, but Dayna was the only one who slept in it!! Thanks for bringing it Stacy! We were a little bit worried about the weather, but it was a nice day. Just a couple of rain drops were felt. The kids were disappointed because they all had new umbrellas along and were anxious to get to use them. My mom decided she wanted this for Valentine's Day because her, my dad and all the grandkids could fit on it easily!!

Should they be doing this??

The kids and I have enjoyed a break from the rain and have been outside the last few days. Within the last week they have realized they could do something that I had thought Dylan forgot he could do. They love to climb up on the playhouses and just sit on the roof. I have no idea what they talk about while they are up there because from the way it looks they just sit there and talk. Today Dayna decided she wanted to try. Once we convinced Dylan that "girls" could climb up there too she did...only to cry out in tears because she was so scared. We then decided that the blue one was the girls'. She had no problem climbing and playing on that one!!

For some reason I am unable to take a single picture with out them insisting on at least one "silly face" picture taken. You can't exactly tell, but David did tell me that he is making a silly face in this picture.

We have had a lot of fun these last few weeks!! It has been VERY busy as well. It started off in mid-december with a friends birthday party. We had nine 5-7 year olds running around the house. Thankfully it was a nice enough day that they mostly just played soccer in the backyard! Then on the 20th, we had family over for Dylans official birthday.

Christmas was a lot of fun. David and Dayna still continue to ask me when its Christmas so they can have more presents and see santa. Dylan prayed the other day for Dayna so that she would know that santa isn't why we have Christmas, but that it is Jesus' birthday! He was very concerned that she didn't understand that it was Jesus' birthday.
The kids with their stockings Christmas morning...it probably didn't help Dayna's thinking about santa. Dylan swears he heard Santa's reindeer on the roof during the night. That was a huge admission since the day before he was still convinced there was no such thing as santa! We we able to hit every Christmas party this year, that means 3 extended family parties, 2 family parties and then our own Christmas party. It was a very busy week and the parties weren't over yet!!Today we celebrated Dayna and David's 3rd birthday with the Koolhaas family. When we were in Tulare we did all the Dec/Jan birthdays before Christmas. Now we can relax and try to find a place for all the gifts!! We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a great new year!!

Cottonseed fun

The other day the kids were having a ton of fun playing in the cottonseed. Its a favorite thing to do after 4pm when the feeder is finished for the day. Dylan came in the house to ask me to come see his new trick. I went with expecting to watch him do a sommersault or a flip down the cottonseed. Needless to say I was surprised to see this:

We also went to Ripon Christian's version of the Harvest Festival, I don't remember what they call it, but just like Dave and I remembering doing we came home with a goldfish. After a day or two of sitting on the counter without any food we decided it was time to let it be "free." So Dave and Dylan brought it to the water trough. The next day Dave couldn't find the fish, so off to Pet Smart we went to buy it 10 "friends." Yesterday the kids and I took a walk out on the dairy and decided to look for the fish in the trough. We found only four and the kids did not even realize that over half of the fish were missing!!

I don't know how I got two copies of the same pic, sorry!!We could hardly get the kids to go to bed that night. All they wanted to do was watch the fish swim around.

Dave's Triathalon

As some of you may know, the first weekend of the month Dave did a sprint triathalon in San Diego. He had to swim 1/2 a mile, bike 9 miles and then run 3 miles. He did it all in 1 1/2 hours. Not bad for someone who 10 months ago could barely walk to the bathroom without getting very short of breath!! God's amazing power sure has been seen here!! Dave even said that he would maybe do it again. I was waiting for pics of him doing it to post the blog. But since the kids and I didn't go, I don't know when I will get the pics. We saw pictures of him doing it on the website and then the kids wanted to dress up like dad did. They "swam" all over the house for a few days after the triathalon.

Soccer

Dylan is about halfway through his soccer season now, and I finally remembered to take my camera along. He is the one in the red shorts. He thought it was funny that those "other boys" had to wear purple! He enjoys it very much and is constantly asking if it is time for his soccer game or practice. The last two years he played indoors, so it it really nice to be outdoors and see "real soccer" being played. Needless to say David and Dayna will wait until they are five to start soccer, so they too can play outside. Goalie, apparently is every kids' favorite position to play at this age. The kids argue over who's turn it is. We can't forget Dylan's biggest supporters. They go to every game and have missed only one practice.
